hese are a few snapshot
pictures taken while touring the city of Munich and the Oktoberfest
venue in September of 2008 in search of displays of my official
Oktoberfest poster artwork. I didn't bring my along good camera, and
hence they're actually all of pretty lousy quality. I guess they
will give you an idea all the same, though.
Book store
"Buchhandlung am Gasteig" displaying my Oktoberfest poster.
This is just opposite the Munich Philharmonics, the cultural center
and the Deutsches Museum.
The official
beer stein in an über-Bavrian setting in Kaufingerstrasse in the
center of Munich. Hilarious :-)
My stein
again, this time at Salvatorstrasse crossing Theatinerstrasse, not far
from Marienplatz.
This is a
poster from Rastal, the producer of the collectors' beer steins, placed
at the entrance of the Information and Tourism Office at Marienplatz
in the center of town.
The poster
exhibit in front of the Information Office a few days later
City
Information window up close.
Inside view of
the "Tourismusamt" abounding with the load of kitchenware, hats,
magnets, stickers, toy trucks and t-shirts all carrying my artwork. A
truly lousy picture but you'll get the idea.
Here's a
better view from a few days later.
A
souvenir kiosk store display at Marienplatz showcasing abundant Oktoberfest
merchandise products featuring my artwork, ranging from beer steins of all
sizes to glasses and t-shirts.
Horizontal view of
the above.
The following
images were taken directly at Theresienwiese, the annual venue for the
world's largest beer festival (this is why they also call it the "Wiesn"). Guess
what I discovered at the large post office right off the entrance -
the German Post has issued a "Sonderstempel," a commemorative stamp,
carrying my design. They even used my original handwriting for this
;-)
A rolled-up
poster and small-size stickers to use for gluing on a postcard. This
is inside the post office tent again.
The first
souvenir booth I have come across selling bunches of stuff and
displaying an oversized beer stein featuring my design at the roof
top.
Closeup view
of the above.
Another
closeup view. This is where I had to sign two beer steins.
Another store
selling all kinds of gadgets, including stickers and the colorful mugs
I have designed. The latter are frankly my favorite among all of this year's Oktoberfest products.
Another sweet
arrangement... Note the firelighters in the front.
Customers
choosing from a variety of apparel. Note the one liter steins on the
shelves.
So cute.
Stuffed animals abound...
Yet another
store selling t-shirts...
... and bags
carrying my artwork. The bags actually got printed on both sides which
I think is pretty neat.
I really like
the two guys in the front here onlooking the selection of t-shirts and
kitchenware ;-)
T-shirts
hanging from above, and the signature Oktoberfest felt hat with my
motif printed againts a blue and white Bavarian-style sky.
You can see
the art better in this closeup view.
A stack of
even more felt hats a few days later.
Take a look at
this: In trying to make the poster look prettier, somebody wrapped a
green-colored plastic decoration around it ;-)
One of the
signature stores, the "Offizieller Wiesn-Shop," embracing my visual,
like, everywhere!
Closeup view
of the same.
Closer! Note
the little toy truck with my design printed on it.
They are also
selling bags, mini steins and semi-transparent glass mugs.
The Wiesn
Store again, with the vendor wearing a hooded sweater featuring my
motif. Note the shelves are filled with t-shirts.
Side view from
the same store, with an A0 sized poster attached.
Visitors
taking pictures in front of my poster.
Final view of
the official license store, promised.
A view from
down under...
Posters
hanging near the Ferris wheel.
Another store
selling t-shirts and bags of various shapes and sizes.
Another
display abounding with kitchenware, from steins to miniature hard
liquor glasses.
This was taken
inside one of the large beer tents filled up the rim with thousands of
visitors from all over the world having a good time while the band is playing
along. Here we see the
counter where the waitresses are taking the beer and food.
Waving
good-bye. Really nice banner, that, even though the weather wasn't
particularly nice that day (this was one day before the festival
closed its doors, and
it was actually pouring like hell so we made sure we got home). |
