KICK-ASS > ZEIT Infographic on Psychotherapy |

Psychotherapy
Infographic
for DIE ZEIT
Labyrinth
of the Mind |
 |
 |
|
I have created this full-page illustrated infographic for DIE ZEIT,
Germany's largest weekly newspaper in 2010.
The page provides an outline of the four main fields in psychotherapy
which have evolved over the years from Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis
and Wilhelm Reich's humanistic psychology up to the streams of systemic
psychology and behavioral psychology.
My artwork takes a whimsical
approach, and incorporates a large number of fun illustrations. |

I |
 |
have created an infographic on
psychotherapy for DIE
ZEIT, Germany's
largest weekly newspaper, in the summer of 2010.
The 47x57cm full-page
illustration with research and text copy provided by journalist Katrin Zeug, visualizes
the four main streams of psychotherapy in a historical sequence.
I went for a design displaying the four streams psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology,
systemic psychology, and behavioral psychology as captions
that are emitted from a large-sized labyrinth in the shape of a human
head. The four captions
each assemble historic landmarks within the described
fields. I used whimsical illustrations to visualize
key figures like Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, Carl G. Jung,
Wilhelm Reich, Fritz und Laura Perls, and Paul Watzlawick, as
well as therapeutic concepts covering the whole range of
different approaches like Individual Psychology, Hypnotherapy,
Psychodrama, Vegetotherapy, Gestalt Therapy, Family Therapy,
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Schema Therapy. |
 |
My design got
published in Christoph Drösser's book "Wissen in Bildern" which assembles
the best infographics published in DIE ZEIT.
Im Labyrinth
der Therapien
Mit Sigmund Freud begann Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts die
moderne Psychotherapie. Heute gehen jährlich 700 000 Deutsche zur Therapie,
seit 1999 regelt das Psychotherapeutengesetz Ausbildung und Kassenzulassung.
Grob lassen die Schulen sich in vier Strömungen einteilen, die sich aber
durchaus gegenseitig beeinflussen. Ein kleiner Wegweiser durch die aktuelle
Psycho-Landschaft.
